Crafting Unique Art Through Glass

About

ABOUT

Kyle Landin is a glass artist based in Corning, NY, focusing predominantly in glassblowing. His
practice explores speculative topography, creating imagined maps, as well as physical
topography, translating real places into glass. He is inspired by his travels as well as time spent
living and studying abroad as a child.

Landin utilizes glass cane line-work manipulation paired with lensing techniques in the hotshop
to create his imagined maps. To translate real topography, he has begun to explore the use of
3D printing technologies as a means to create molds for new hollow-core castings.

Landin is currently a student in the inaugural class of the Glassmaking Institute at the Corning Museum of Glass Studio.
